Every year NIGHTLY NEWS does a special segment capturing the emotions of the years news events. The producers wanted a simple virtual video museum look complete with glassy floors and flying video. They didn't want to take away from the real star of the piece, the video clips.

Flying video clips from the most memorable News Events of 1998.	The broadcast ended with a live shot of New York's Times Square.

The piece aired just once on New Years Eve, December 1998. Brian Williams was the host filling in for Tom Brokaw.
